Felgains: Supporting Ukraine with a Donation of Hospital Beds and Mattresses
Here at Felgains, our thoughts go out to the people of Ukraine at this time of suffering. Seeing their pain from afar, we were inspired to do what we could to help in some small way and alleviate the suffering they are going through.
After some thought and exploring various ideas, Felgains are supporting Ukraine with a donation of 20 Actilit Acute Profiling Hospital Beds, along with a selection of pressure-relieving mattresses and UK/EU power adaptors. These were all modern, brand new profiling beds.
Gary Tidman of OnlyLifts then kindly helped us establish contact with a Hospital Medical Director in Lviv, Ukraine to ensure the profiling beds would get there safely and be in the right hands to make a real difference. The beds were then collected and delivered via Brother Parcel Post Ltd in Maidstone, a company run by Ukrainians, who were again very helpful.
After a few days driving over to Ukraine and getting through all the customs checks (and the day before the first missile strike near Lviv) they arrived at Municipal Clinical First Aid Hospital in Lviv.
These hospital beds will be used to help medical teams in Ukraine treat ill and injured people affected by the war in Ukraine and the humanitarian crisis that is still unfolding. Medical teams in Ukraine are under a great deal of pressure at the moment, so we hope that in some small way these beds will help them as they continue their vital work.
“In a commercial world where it seems all too easy to focus on the bottom line and self-serving interest, Felgains are very grateful to have had an opportunity to help to alleviate some suffering in Ukraine and give back to mankind in some way.”
