How robust are the TransitFlow Chairs?
Portering chairs are used very frequently and travel over long distances daily, so choosing a robust portering chair that’s up for the job is very important!
The TransitFlow’s armrests are designed to be exceptionally robust – they can bear loads up to 200kg. We’ve also had feedback that the folding armrests are more robust than traditional drop-down armrests. Drop-down armrests are typically secured with thumbscrews, which can be damaged or lost over time.
The footplate of the TransitFlow is also very robust, designed to cope with loads of up to 200kg (or 250kg for the Bariatric version). This means patients can stand on the footplate with no issues, should they need to.
The TransitFlow Chair’s frame is made from stainless steel and is epoxy coated, protecting it from rust that we see so often on other portering chairs in hospitals.
Are the TransitFlow Chairs available on NHS Supply Chain?
The TransitFlow models are available under a new framework – ‘Lot One – Medical Furniture Equipment’ under ‘Portering chairs and wheelchairs’.
