Frequently asked questions about the PatientFlow Patient Transport Stretcher

In this article, we’ll answer the 6 most common questions we receive about the PatientFlow Patient Transport Stretcher from Felgains.

What areas of a hospital is the PatientFlow Stretcher suitable for?

The PatientFlow is a stretcher designed for use in emergency departments and in any areas where patients are transported.

The trolley is very lightweight and easy to manoeuvre, with a weight of just 102kg, yet it’s robustly built to withstand heavy use all day, every day.

What’s the max weight capacity of the PatientFlow?

The PatientFlow has an industry-leading safe working load of 320kg and a max patient weight of 260kg.

What configuration options are there for the PatientFlow Stretcher?

There are multiple configuration options available for the PatientFlow, allowing us to work with you to design a stretcher that meets your exact requirements.

For example, you can choose between a 2-section or 4-section profiling mattress platform, and we can add an X-ray tunnel should you need to use the trolley for imaging.

There are also multiple mattress platform widths available, from 575 mm up to 880 mm.

A choice between hydraulic and electric functionality is available, and we also offer the PatientFlow with a power drive function, to make it effortless for staff to use.

Does the PatientFlow Stretcher comply with ISO 60601-2-52?

As standard, the PatientFlow doesn’t comply with ISO 60601-2-52, however, we now offer fully compliant side rails as an optional extra, which replace the standard side rails.

Based on feedback we’ve received, both stretchers have their place in the typical NHS Acute Trust.

How much does the PatientFlow Stretcher cost?

As standard, the PatientFlow stretcher costs just under £5000 excluding VAT, and included in this price is a foam pressure-relieving mattress, an IV pole, and a 2-year warranty.
