Frequently asked questions about the StaminaLift TS5000 Bed Mover

With unmatched compatibility with beds and stretchers, the Staminalift TS5000 Bed & Stretcher Mover transforms the laborious task of pushing beds and stretchers into a controlled and easy operation, removing the risk of back injury and improving the work environment for your portering staff.

In this article, we’ll answer the 5 most common questions we receive about the Staminalift TS5000.

How does the StaminaLift TS5000 attach to beds and stretchers?

The TS5000 attaches to beds and stretchers using a jaw mechanism, which clamps to the castor wheels of the bed/stretcher and lifts it slightly off the ground. The animation below shows this in action, showing the TS5000 attaching to the MultiFlow ED Stretcher:

This attachment process is very simple and takes less than a minute, and requires no manual effort. Simply line the bed mover up with the bed or stretcher, and use the bed mover’s joystick to operate the jaws.

There are also wider jaws available for the Stamina bed movers, which allow attachment to very wide beds, should this be required.

What beds & stretchers is the StaminaLift TS5000 compatible with?

The TS5000’s jaw mechanism allows the bed mover to be attached to wheel widths from 550mm to 890mm and wheel diameters of 125mm to 200mm, catering to the vast majority of beds and stretchers on the market today.

What’s the max load capacity of the StaminaLift TS5000?

The max load capacity of the StaminaLift TS5000 is 600kg. The maximum operating gradient is 7 degrees.

The bariatric version, called the TS6000, has an even higher max load capacity of 900kg.

How is the TS5000 controlled?

The TS5000 features fingertip joystick control, requiring minimal muscle activation and an ergonomically correct operation, eliminating the muscular strain and injury risk associated with manual bed-pushing.

The joystick controls the direction of the bed mover as well as the jaw mechanism. There is a separate dial to control the speed of the bed mover.

Is the TS5000 easy for staff to use?

The TS5000’s joystick is intuitive to use, with most staff members able to pick it up within minutes of using it. When implementing the bed mover, we make sure to train all the staff who are going to be using the equipment to ensure they are comfortable using the system.

There is also an optional ride-on platform, which is popular with staff as it makes the bed mover easy to control and allows the operator to ride behind the bed mover.

How much does the StaminaLift TS5000 cost?

The TS5000 starts at £16,779, excluding VAT, for a single unit. Please note, however, that quantity discounts are available.
