What about leather riser recliner chairs?

As with fabric riser recliner chairs, how long a leather chair lasts comes down to how often it’s used, how well it’s looked after, aAshore Taylor Riser Recliner Chair with Lateral Back in Leathernd the quality of the chair to begin with.

Generally speaking, genuine leather chairs will last longer than fabric chairs, as leather tends to be tougher and more hard-wearing.

3 tips on how to look after your riser recliner

1. Keep an eye on the electrics

The electric components of a riser recliner can be the first thing to go wrong, but this can be prevented by following some simple steps.

To make sure the electric components are kept in good working order, we recommend:

  • Checking the cables at least once a month to check there are no damaged or frayed cables
  • Keeping all the electric components protected from moisture and dirt
  • Keeping the chair in an indoor, dry environment

2. Regularly, but gently, clean the fabric

Regularly cleaning your chair will prevent any stains & permanent marks from building up, as well as maintaining good hygiene and cleanliness.

To gently clean your chair, we recommend using a damp or dry cloth to remove any marks or residue, and hoovering any significant dirt.

If your chair is upholstered with a wipe-clean fabric, cleaning your chair is quick and easy; simply wipe it down with Clinell wipes or similar.

3. Have the chair serviced every year

If your chair is used every day, you may also want to ensure your chair gets a professional service once a year.

This will ensure the chair is kept in good working order and may prevent problems from occurring in the first place.
