How much does an electric wheelchair service cost?
Whether you’re already purchased, or you’re looking at buying an electric wheelchair, you’ll probably want to know how much an electric wheelchair service costs.
In this article, we’ll set out our prices for electric wheelchair servicing with Felgains, which covers all our range of powerchairs. Just as important as the service cost itself is how servicing works and what you get for your money, so we’ll explain this too!
Electric wheelchair service prices
Our prices for electric wheelchair servicing are nice and simple. We charge the same for all types and sizes of powerchairs and have 3 set prices based on the method/location of the service.
Electric Wheelchair Service – Drop Off
How it works: You drop off your powerchair at Felgains and we service in our Workshop. Usually takes no more than 1 hour. |
£77.00 ex VAT |
Electric Wheelchair Service – Collection
How it works: Available for customers within a 30 mile radius of Ipswich. Felgains’ technicians will collect your electric wheelchair, complete the service in our Workshop and deliver back to your address. We’ll work with you to keep the time you’re without your chair to an absolute minimum – it can often be within 24 hours. |
£144.00 ex VAT |
Electric Wheelchair Service – On-site
How it works: For large electric wheelchairs, or where drop off is impractical, Felgains’ technicians can complete the service at your address on an agreed date and time. |
£198.00 ex VAT |
As with all prices, we should point out that we may need to change these without notice. However, if this should occur, we will update you as soon as we can! |
How often should I get my electric wheelchair serviced?
We recommend you book an annual powerchair service, especially if you use your chair every day. You can either ring us as and when you’d like to book a service, or you can ask us to add you to our database and we’ll contact you as agreed.
What does an electric wheelchair service include?
An electric wheelchair service is like an annual health check. We’ll make sure all aspects of the mechanics and electrics are in full working order, from the motor, battery, controls and brakes. All wiring and connections are inspected, as are the tyres and wheels.
All being well, we’ll be able to give your powerchair a clean bill of health and you can be confident you’re driving a mobility vehicle that’s safe and reliable.
How much does it cost if my electric wheelchair needs a repair?
If we do find any faults during your powerchair service that will require additional cost to fix (if, for example, the warranty has expired), we’ll prepare a Service & Repair report with the required work and cost. We’ll submit this for your approval before starting any repairs.
