Can you buy a rise and recliner chair with a matching sofa?
A common question we get asked is: can you buy a matching sofa to go with your riser recliner chair? The answer is yes!
If you’re wanting to make a suite of it, this guide is for you. We’ll show you which riser recliner chairs are available with complementary furniture, what options you can choose and explain how the pricing works.
What riser recliner chairs are available with a matching sofa?
In the Ashore rise and recline chair range, there are three models which are available with matching furniture:
What’s the difference between these models? With the Taylor you get eight standard sizes and a choice of backrest styles. The Liberty adds a choices of armrest styles and the Maiden adds made to measure sizing.
What matching sofas and chairs can you buy with a riser recliner chair?
We say matching sofas and chairs, because there’s several options. With either the Taylor or Liberty riser recliners, you can buy a complementary:
- 2-seater sofa – static, recline only, or rise and recline option
- 3-seater sofa – static, recline only, or rise and recline option
- Static armchair
And with the Maiden riser recliner, you can also buy a complementary:
- Recliner chair (without the rise function)
- Fireside chair
- High leg settee
- Footstools
Are there any limitations to a matching suite?
The last thing we’d want is for you to purchase a matching suite of rise and recline chairs or sofas and be disappointed that they don’t work the way you hoped. So, in this spirit, there’s a couple of things we should point out, just in case they might influence your decision.
Weight limits: all complementary furniture options have an 18 stone weight limit, compared to a riser recliner chair, which has a standard weight limit of 20 or 25 stone (with higher weight limits available too).
Seat cushions: all complementary furniture come with foam seating, unlike riser recliners which have pocket sprung seating as standard.

Upholstery options on rise recliner chairs and matching suite
If you’re looking for choice, we’ve got good news for you: you can buy your rise recliner chair and matching suite in fabric, waterproof vinyl or leather upholstery. If you visit our showroom or book a home visit, you can see all the swatches for yourself. Feel free to bring along a piece of carpet or anything you might be wanting to match!
Riser recliner chairs with matching sofa: prices & VAT
Because every situation is different, you will ultimately need to request a personalised quote from us. However, that doesn’t stop us from giving you a guide price for a 2 Seater sofa at £1600.00 inc VAT.
Whilst you can claim VAT relief on riser recliner chairs, the same doesn’t apply to any of the matching suite options. This is because standard chairs and sofas aren’t designed solely for use by disabled people.
