  The Quickie Nitrum Active Wheelchair is the lightest adjustable aluminium wheelchair on the market at just 4.9kg lifting weight! The successor to the Quickie Helium wheelchair, it combines weight rigidity, custom fit and fine tuning to offer the most energy efficient Quickie wheelchair ever produced. The Nitrum is for users who value pushing efficiency and lightweight design. A revolutionary chair that minimises propulsion effort whilst maximising movement.

  Weight & Rigidity

  The Quickie Nitrum employs state-of-the-art materials and principles to minimise weight (from 7.5 kg) and maximise strength, so you need less energy to propel.

  • Sculpted from high-strength 7020 Aluminium, the frame is specially heat-treated, so the tubing can be significantly thinner and lighter without any sacrifice to its strength. 
  • The Nitrum wheelchair is hand-welded into one-complete frame, so you get a stiffer, lighter ride.
  • The forged aluminium backrest bracket is extremely stiff, so it’s significantly more energy efficient without sacrificing the adjustability of the backrest angle or height.
  • With fewer stress points due to its elongated sides, the Nitrum’s unique oval tubing is stronger than round tubing as it’s less likely to flex under pressure – and it’s lighter!

  Lifting features

  • Just grab the patented Twist Lock bar with one hand and twist it to release, fold and load the wheelchair into your car. With double-locking, you can also use the same bar to lift it. It’ll also lock without removing your sideguards or low-profile cushion.
  • Optimised for easier car transfers with the underside of the frame being completely open once rear wheels are removed and including ergonomic grab bars on the backrest and cross-tube.
