• Description

  Custom-made to fit the Hillrom HR900 Hospital Bed, the Solace Split Rail bumpers by Felgains are primarily used to prevent impact injuries, but they can also reduce the risk of limb entrapment when securely affixed to the bed rail.

  The Solace Split Rail Bumpers for the HR900 may also help Trusts to reduce risks associated with side rails and entrapment following the ‘National Patient Safety Alert: Medical beds, trolleys, bed rails, bed grab handles and lateral turning devices: risk of death from entrapment or falls (NatPSA/2023/010/MHRA)’, following assessment and appropriate management.

  When the bumpers are fitted, the side rail controls are deliberately covered to increase patient safety*. If the optional hand control has been left hanging on the side rail, the bumper will still cover this. Access to the CPR lever and side rail release button is unhindered. 

  The Solace Split Rail Bumpers have space to record which ward the bumpers belong to – reducing the risk of them getting lost or mislaid, and handing is clearly denoted with ‘INSIDE’ printed on the patient-facing side.

  *If required, we can have a cutout to allow controls on the side rail to be used.
