• Description

  Bariatric patients (generally considered as over 25 stone) pose a particularly acute moving and handling risk to carers, due to both their size and their weight. In many cases multiple carers – up to three or four – are required to manually move and position a bariatric client in bed. This is a task with a very high risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSD’s) for the carers.

  The VENDLET Bari bariatric patient turning system can reduce this to just a single carer who can operate the system with one hand and guide the client with their other hand. With a much higher safe working load (SWL) of 400 kg / 63 stone, the VENDLET Bari bariatric patient turning system is built to handle the larger and heavier clients for whom the V5S would not be suitable.

• Who is the VENDLET Bari for and what are its uses?

  The VENDLET V5S+ is for service users who exceed the safe working load of the V5S – a client who is over 200kg/32 stone.

• What makes the V5S+ unique?

  Along with the other models in the VENDLET family – the V5S and Basic – the VENDLET V5S+ fully complies with IEC guideline 60601-2-52:2009 – which applies to the “basic safety and essential performance of medical beds intended for adults”.

  The VENDLET V5S+ also has a much higher working load than the V5S. Instead of a maximum SWL (Safe Working Load) of 200kg, it has an SWL of 400kg/63 stone

  Is the turning sheet on the V5S+ wider?
  Yes, the sheet is indeed wider to account for the larger beds it will be fitted on

  Will the V5S+ fit on all bariatric care beds?
  Yes, the VENDLET V5S+ is easy to integrate with existing care packages and will fit to most bariatric care beds.

  Can the VENDLET V5S+ be used with other brands of turn sheet and slide sheet?
  No, this will result in decreased performance and may invalidate the warranty and constitute a risk to patient safety. Only VENDLET™ sheets may be used.
